Easy & Fabulous Dye DIY!

I purchased a little twirly, ballerina feeling skirt from Salvation Army for $2, but it needed a little punch.  I went by Rite Aid and picked up some Rit Dye, only recommended for Cotton fabrics.  Umm, this is definitely not that, but it was absolutely worth the risk.

First and foremost,  I had to choose between Golden Yellow or Sunshine Orange…  I knew both would be darling and to be truthful, I had no idea which I picked until I got home.

I was super nervous to do this in my kitchen sink, in case it stained!  Yikes.  It didn’t at all, and it was super simple because I could fill up easy and clean up easy!

I used a paint stirrer to move the skirt around in there.  I probably left it in for close to 30 minutes.  I monitored by eye and then rinsed it all out until the water ran clear.

Then I threw it in the washer on hand wash and hung dry.  Voila!  It’s a soft yellow which I really like.

And here it is in all it’s glory.  Total cost (including skirt): About $6.  And it was SUPER EASY!

So, what do you guys think?
