Thrifted & Upcycled: Faux Bamboo Etagere

Check out the new little faux bamboo etagere I rescued from the thrift store.  It was marked at 50% off $20 so for $10 it was my little project.  I swung by Home Depot and picked up some Gold Rustoleum paint and the cheapest spray primer I could find.  {Primer is a GREAT investment – saves your paint and gives a MUCH better result.}

Check it out:

As you can see, it was a little rusty and oxidized. She needed some love to bring her to life!

Sprayed it with primer and it was all poised for perfect spray gold application.

Here it is as a little nightstand.  It’s light, blingy, and houses my flowers, my man candle, my books & journal, and my water carafe.  It looks pretty cute, right?

Total work time: About 30 minutes.  Total Cost: $10 + about $10 for paint supplies = $20.

What do you guys think?
